Myrtle Beach Bike Week 2014

Its that time of year again; the world famous Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Bike Week. This year the events will be held from May 9th through May 18th 2014. According to some accounts, Myrtle Beach Bike Week has been given a reputation of trouble and mischief; However, this time of year is my personal favorite although I do not own nor ride a motorcycle. During Bike Week at almost any corner you turn, you will see large herds or Bike’s and groups of family, friends, and even strangers hanging out together and enjoying the beautiful sunshine. Vendors line the coastal streets to sell their hats, shirts, belts, etc. as memorabilia for what is bound to become a bikers best week ever.

There are numerous events taking place throughout the 10 days of bike week including but not limited to:

*** Thursday May 15th Nantucket Music and Wine Fest at “La Belle Amie Vineyard” located at 1120 St. Joseph Road, Little River, SC 29566. Head out to the best Vineyard in the county for a chance to see many East Coast Legends live

*** Any Day (See http://www.myrtlebeachbikeweek.com/ for details) The Loop Tour – The longest motorcycle tour during bike week is an approximate 190 – 200 mile ride through Horry and Georgetown counties of South Carolina.

Visit the myrtlebeachbikeweek.com website for more information. Parts of the 2014 Rally, Northern Tours, Southern Tours, and the Loop Tour will be filmed for a documentary. If you have never experienced the excitement and free spirit of a Myrtle Beach Bike Week Rally, come on down for the weekend and enjoy your ride along the beautiful grand strand beaches.Image

Getting Past your Past

Getting Past your Past

No matter how Strong, Determined, and level-headed you may be… there is always something in your past that you struggle to leave behind. No matter how big or small, your past can haunt you like a bad dream each day of your life, and sometimes we are not even aware of the impact of our past, the choices we made, and even the people in it until we are forced to confront it head on.

Burying your past may seem like a temporary solution; However, this is one of the most misleading habits that we create for ourselves. Just as if you took something that you wanted to hid and buried it in your back yard, you will think about it daily and know that eventually it WILL resurface again. This is why we must kick the habit of “hiding” our past. I learned this in just a matter of seconds as a man named Brian Perry stood in front of a 500+ people congregation and said “You can NOT trade one bad habit for another, that’s like trading seats on the Titanic, the ship is still going to sink… And you’re still going down.”

Try today to remember that one sentence as you move forward with your life. Do not let your past steal your future, and relieve yourself of those weights. It all starts will understanding and accepting the fact that there is something we have neglected to “deal with”… and when you take that very first step you are able to free yourself of the burdens of life and move forward in this moment.

The Secret: Be What You are Destined to Be…

The Secret: Be what you are destined to be...

Destiny: (noun) des.tin.ee -destiny or “fate” is a predetermined course of events. Based on the belief that there is a fixed “natural order” to the Cosmos (the universe referred to as an order system).

As Cliché as it may sound, finding ourselves is a vital factor to becoming happy with our own lives; However, we cannot confront our identity until we learn to relieve ourselves of the fake, people pleasing, power seeking individuals that we have become. To take on this project we must first shed the coat of who we are Not, and lay down our backpack of old pain in order to move forward to our destiny.

The key to finding out who you ARE is making mistakes in order to understand who you are NOT. If you take the action, the insight will follow. Step outside of your comfort zone a little and embrace all of your stress and grief for the strength that you are gaining from it along the way. When someone asks you to help them move and your already exhausted, simply tell them No. I have come to learn that “No” is a complete sentence and it should be used that way.

For just a moment try with all of your might to overlook the Facebook statuses, latest fashion trends, and what the people around you think. Even the Bible clearly states in the book of Romans chapter 12 “And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

To find who and/or what you are destined to be, you do not have to embark on a spiritual journey in the tropical rainforest or meditate daily to “ground yourself”… just pay attention to YOU, your thoughts, feelings, and judgments. Make decisions based on belief and not spur of the moment reaction. Venture out into unfamiliar territory and make notes along the way. Soon enough you will realize not only who You Are, but that you have now created your own destiny.

The Struggle of Change: Moving

The Struggle of Change: Moving

One thing that we all have in common in some shape or fashion is our difficulty with change. As humans it is our nature to become comfortable with our lives and ultimately our surroundings. The people that we are comfortable with are our “loved ones” and the place that we are most comfortable is called our “home”.

I recently made a very dramatic change to my appearance which is when I learned exactly how intense this issue really is. I have been a distinct blonde for my entire 24 years of life; Not only was my extremely light colored hair a “trademark” for me, but it also connected me to both my mother and grandmother who are just as much cotton tops as I was. You can probably imagine their surprise when I randomly announced my intention to become a brunette. Once the damage was done someone said something to me that I will never forget. “Paige… prepare yourself! Some people may love it, but most will hate it because People Do Not Like Change”! How true is that?!

The bottom line is this, the problem comes in with us all simply not knowing HOW to make a change. Has anyone ever said to you “if you want something to be different, you just have to change it”.. they might as well tell us “if you want to go to the moon, just learn to fly”. When it comes to learning how to adapt to new situations, our flames burn out so to speak. We draw a blank. Therefor the single most important thing to learn is to just bite the bullet, and make the change. Put the consequences and abnormalities behind you and be open to the possibilities that could come from even the smallest change.

On this topic, Moving can be one of the most extremely difficult decisions and adjustment for any family to make. New surroundings, faces, schools, and overall atmosphere is a large hurdle to leap over but it can also become the best decision to make. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is now my most favorite place on Earth; My home. The Southern hospitality almost seems contagious and the South Carolina motto says it all: “Smiling Faces and Beautiful Places”.

Give me a call today so that I may have the pleasure of assisting you in a beautiful change of scenery. Myrtle Beach, SC is the most wonderful place to be.
